A £32 Face Oil? | Trying These High-End Skincare Products For A Whole Month! (Review)

Inner Senses 7 Wonders Panacea Face & Body Oil and Sond Night Cream

Hi guys so I'm back with another review. I spent the last month trying out the Inner Senses Organics 7 Wonders Skin Panacea Face & Body Oil (£32) and the Sond Midnight Feast Night Cream (£38). In addition to that I used my trusty Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and kept my skincare really simple, so I could see if the new-in products were actually working. I always say.. it's not about the amount of products you are using but the effectiveness of what your using.

Why My Night Time Routine Is So Important!

During night time, your skin has time to rest and breathe without the outdoor pollutants or sun rays that can affect our skin during the day time. Night time, is actually a great time to focus more on skincare as your skin can form new cells, repair any skin damages, and having a good night-time routine can really be helpful during this time.

I always find it's beneficial to use products that are appropriate for your skin type. The beauty world  categorises their skincare products for normal, dry, combination or oily skin. Using the right products for your skin type, can really make a huge difference to any skincare routine. So the night cream I'll be reviewing using is suitable for my sensitive and normal/combination skin types; while the oil works well for all skin types. If you would like to find out your skin type in '4 easy steps' click here!

Sond

I'm going to first start by sharing my first impression of the Sond Midnight Feast Night Cream, which is from an alkaline skincare brand. This type of skincare is particularly interesting because the skin's normal pH is actually between 5-5.5, which is an acidic pH. Their entire skincare brand, contains products which have a slightly alkaline pH around 7.3. Scientifically the principle seems all wrong, because ideally you should keep cosmetic products with the same balance as the skin, to avoid irritation. However, these alkaline products have many positive reviews and of course, I had to try it out for myself!

The Sond Midnight Feast Night Cream is suitable for sensitive skin. It retails at £38, which makes it a high-end skincare product. It has a thick consistency with very light refreshing fragrance and contains argan oil, coconut oil, hemp oil and sunflower seed oil. When massaging it into my skin, I loved the fact that it was very hydrating and although thick in consistency it was weightless on my skin. Within 10 seconds of applying it, it literally absorbs into my skin and gives a matte, tight feeling.

Inner Senses

Next is, the Inner Senses Organics 7 Wonders Skin Panacea Face & Body Oil, is an oil that I was so excited to try because it was a blend of so many oils I loved! It contains Black Seed Oil, Baobab oil, Avocado Oil,  Apricot Kernel Oil, Cumin oil and much more. Before using this product, I already knew about the many benefits of this oil. And I received it at a time, where my skin needed some much needed healing, after an allergic reaction. So I used this 2 weeks prior to the night cream, to aid skin healing

Once the cream had dried, I massaged the Inner Senses Face & Body Oil into my skin. It is retailed at £32, so is a high-end oil which has a blend of amazing sought-after oils. It has a lovely aromatherapy oil smell, almost like a relaxing spa scent and it absorbs so well into my skin. Also, it gives my skin a luminous radiance, which I noticed straight away after the first application, up until now. I spend a good few minutes daily applying and massaging the oil into my skin, because it leaves my skin so soft. I will also be doing a future post on how this post helped me after an allergic reaction.

Would I use these products again?

I will definitely continue to use both of them. I would use the Sond cream a 3-4 days a week and the Inner Senses Oil daily. With the Sond cream, I used it alone for a few days before using them together and I found that because it is very matifying it, it also makes my skin is quite tight, which is good, but not something I would want daily.

The Inner Senses oil, I would use daily because it is moisturising, hydrating and gives me a glow. It feels like I am getting a facial every single day (so I'm happy with the price), and using it with the Sond cream really helped balance out Sond's matifying effect.

What skin type would benefit from these products?

I think the Sond Night Cream would benefit oily skin and combination skin types. Although its matifying its also very hydrating when applying it, so I think it's a great moisturiser but dry skin types may need to use it alongside an oil. The Inner Senses oil will benefit all skin types! And a generous amount can be used, especially at night time and when you're home. It has great skin healing properties and absorbs so well into hydrated skin.

I hope you guys liked the products I've reviewed, I will also be discussing 'The Science Behind Alkaline Skincare' so check back here soon. Please comment below and let me know what your using as part of your current night time routine. Thank you so much for reading.

Love you lots J x

  1. I've heard a lot of good things about Sond products but being that I have such dry skin I'm not sure the cream would be very beneficial to my skin. But the Inner Senses oil sounds like a wonderful product!

    1. Hi Tracy! That's the thing, it really does depend on your skin type! It's quite mattifying but still moisturises really well. The oil really is wonderful too, I'll be reviewing more Inner Senses oils in the near future! xx

    1. Hi Amber! Glad you liked the post! I have the same problem too, but hopefully skincare brands stay true to label when they say 'for sensitive skin'. It always good to do a patch test first! xx

  5. I don't keep up with the latest and greatest skincare and beauty products, so thank you for introducing me to these two. I will see if they are available at Sephora. Based on your recommendation, I would benefit from the Sond Night Cream. I don't have a night cream so this may just be it. Thanks again!

  8. I have actually not heard of these products until now. Although I am a huge skin care and makeup buff, I seem to never keep up with the latest beauty trends and new products. I am definitely going to look into these more though, because I have been trying to enhance my sin care routine!! Thanks!

    1. Hey Kasia! Thank for your lovely comment. Keeping up with the latest beauty trends can be quite challenging, even for me. I tend to only get skincare products I actually need and are suitable for my skin type. I guess you can get trendy things overtime, but I'd say as long as your skincare routine has the basics, you'll be fine xx

  9. Sönd is a brand that I have seen featured on a few blogs but personally never tried anything from the brand. The cream is probably not right for my dry-normal skin but the oil sounds heavenly.

    1. Hey Shireen! Thank you for commenting! I've seen reviews on it too! It's mattifying effect may not be suitable for all skin types but it's still a great cream nonetheless. The Inner Senses oil is definitely a favourite, I can't wait to try more of their oils! xx
