Taking It Off | The Garnier Micellar Water Review

Taking off my makeup at night after a long exhausting day has always been a bit of a chore for me, simply because I just couldn't be bothered with wipes because I just found it too drying on my skin and I just didn't like the way my skin felt in the morning!

So often times, I would just fall right asleep and lucky enough for me I generally have good skin, so I rarely get worried about getting spots or worsening my skin. However as I have gotten older I do realise that although my skin rarely gives me problems, I do find that sometimes it just doesn't look the same. I find that the times I stray away from a good night time routine, I just don't look as radiant in the morning.

More recently, I have been keeping a good night regimen going and one thing that really helped me is the Garnier Micellar cleansing water. I absolutely love Garnier products as they are so gentle on my skin and when I saw this in the store, I was sure to pick it up. Little did I know this beauty product would be a new favourite of mine. When I get home after a long day, I simply grab a cotton pad and with a few drops of the micellar water, I gently cleansed and it absolutely works wonders.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND MICELLAR WATER

Some of my science nerds out there will know that micellar comes from the scientific term micelle. Which describes a layer or pattern of our lipid cells that arrange themselves in a sphere, the outer part being water-loving and the inner layer being oil-loving. These tiny spherical agents love water and are attracted to your skins surface, this property allows them to effectively and gently cleanse away dirt and oils.

Although the micellar water is a great product, you should always make sure you use a skin-type appropriate product. This is a key part to a successful skincare routine. If you are unsure of your skin type or want to check it again please see my previous post on 'How to find your skin type'.

CLEANSING AND MOISTURISING

A review on micellar water for sensitive skin. Skincare and beauty routine for lazy people, great product to use.

I follow this cleansing routine, with a night moisturiser and then I'm off to bed. It literally takes minutes and is so effortless. I actually enjoy night time cleansing because of this, it really doesn't feel like chore. I can say that I use this quite a few times a week and especially on my lazy days. I would gladly recommend it, if you want an alternative to alcohol wipes, which may dry out your skin. Also, if you are like me and you want something gentle on your skin then is definitely a great morning or night time cleanser.

I'd love to hear what you think about these cleansing waters, there are many other brands doing the same also. Let me know what youre using and if its working great for you to.

Thanks for reading and I will see you in my next post x

  3. I've used this before and enjoyed it. My favorite though is the cetaphil version and my 2nd favorite is the simple brand micellar water.
