Inspirational Post | Before You Quit, Try..

Patience is truly a virtue and one thing I would say about the phrase 'Before you..' is truly based on this. Today's inspirational post is about personal growth and self-development, I came across a quote and I guess it just inspired me to write about it. Although the quote was much longer, I felt like these particular ones resonated with me quite deeply. Before you speak, listen.

Listening is one of the most challenging things to do. It seems so easy, when you say it, but not always in practice. Often times it is a necessary skill that often friendships, relationships and even those we deal with at work, can really benefit from. In times of conflict or disagreement, sometimes I just stop and think ‘maybe they just want to be heard and valued’. You know you’ve done something right when you listen, wait….. are slow to speak and the situation resolves itself almost like it never existed.

Before you write, think.

Writing can be such a beautiful thing. We spend countless hours writing letters, cards, messages and even love notes that can really touch others. And its such a beautiful thing when you use words to inspire those around you. As much as words can truly comfort someone and make their day, it can also hurt if used in the wrong way. Often times during disagreements with people, we're quick to type and write things in anger but if you wait and choose your words wisely it can really diffuse a disagreement.

Before you spend, earn.

When it comes to money, it is a bit of a funny one, simply because nobody really likes to be told what to do with it. And as much as talking about this seems like so much of a taboo, it actually can be quite helpful to learn to be patient with spending it. The time spent waiting and being patient causes you to think about more about it. Although money seems like its always coming in the form of 'a paycheck', or what someone 'owes you', an 'invest you've made' or 'whats someone promised you', it also is not guaranteed, but what is guaranteed, is what you have in your hand right now. 

Before you quit, try.

I’m sure you’ve heard people say ‘quitting is easy’, but I do want to emphasise that it's really not. Deciding to quit or remain in something are both difficult choices. And in reality it really does depend on what your quitting or giving up on. In the same breath, I can say trying instead of quitting is even harder as you're probably going to continue to face challenges. I will always say, go for the bigger challenge if you'll benefit more from it, because either way its gonna be hard.
